Match Report – Sun 22 Sep 2019 – Dhoni vs AIS

Our Beginners team have been playing their in-house matches since long and were looking forward to play against other academies and school team, which became a possibility on Sun 22 Sep morning after cancellation of the previous match due to bad Haze situation.

The match was in a modified form for all the 12 players to play in a pair form with each pair playing 4 overs each and for bowling each player to bowl minimum of 2 overs, which gave a good amount of exposure to all our beginners’ player.

The toss was won by Dhoni team led by captain Bharggava who elected to bat first. Dhoni team scored 83 for the loss of 7 wickets while in response AIS team scored 120 for the loss of 5 wickets and won the match.

However, the Dhoni team players played as a team and kept the momentum to restrict the runs until the end by putting up every possible efforts to stop the boundaries and backing up each other during fielding.

The were remarkably good and consistent bowling performances from Advik Chentneni, Bhargaava Mukund, Eshan Nathan, Nikhil Mehta, Ishath Sandeep, Sidhartha Avula. In the fielding department, Krushang Suwarna, Advik Chintneni, Eshan, Bharggava did a wonderful job to stop the boundaries and backing up each other. While in the batting, there were good shots from Bharggava, Ishath, Advik, Nikhil, Dhruva, Sai despite the pro-soft ball was pitching low.

The player of the match was awarded to Advik Chintneni for his consistent performance in bowling and fielding and importantly backing up all the time.

Despite the loss of the match, the beginners’ team enjoyed the game from the start till the end as they played together as a team, constantly cheering up their batting pairs, enjoyed the victory after taking every wickets. Match Report – Sat 21 Sep 2019 – MSDCA vs AIS

After playing series of in-house matches amongst the academy’s intermediate teams, it was a great opportunity for our intermediate team to participate in a match against other school academies to get greater exposure to hone their skills and to get experience of playing in a real match environment.

Dhoni Intermediate team was led by Captian Krishiv Garg. The toss was won by AIS team and elected to bat. They scored 206 for the loss of 6 wickets in 25 overs. In return, Dhoni team could score only 84 all out in 21 overs. AIS team won by 122 runs.

With the win of AIS, it was a good learning opportunity for Dhoni team particularly on the fielding placement to prevent boundaries and giving wides and no balls,  but despite this there were positive observations noticed among the Dhoni team as they took six wickets out of which there took four run-outs of AIS batsmen. Pick of the bowlers were Kashyap, Shreesh, who took one wicket each. Kashyap took two run-out both with unassisted direct throw on the wicket. Vihaan also contribute by making a run-out. In batting, the highest score was of Samyak scoring 10 off 14 balls, Kashyap 9 off 32 balls, Rohit 8 off 20 balls. Amongst all, Kashyap was awarded the best player award for his best performance.

Overall, the team have enjoyed the match despite the loss, as there were lot many areas they got exposure to, which they will try to address and perform better in the next coming matches.
