Eashaan Maheshwary from beginners batch is a budding young talent that has improved consistently since joining the academy.
Being the good-natured young boy that he is, his eagerness and willingness to learn has allowed him to improve his game in all aspects.
His ability with the bat and ball has grown in tandem with his passion for the game.
He never fails to have a smile on his face during training sessions and it is truly a joy to have him as part of the academy.
With his hardworking attitude and passion for the game, we are confident that Eashaan will continue to improve his game and develop himself further as a good all-rounder.
We wish him all the best.

Intermediate B Match Report

Venue: NPS

Date: 16/11/2019

Teams-Dhoni Intermediate B-Stars vs NPS

Dhoni Intermediate B team played their first match NPS International School with the host NPS team. All boys of Dhoni Stars were exited for the match and ready with their warm up and discussed their game plan including fielding placement, batting and bowling order.

Both Team captains went for Toss which was won by Dhoni Stars led by Pratyush Sharma who elected to field.

The bowling spell started with Arin Chatterjee and Aditya Amrutkar for first 4 overs. NPS team The run rate of NPS was high in the initial over though Arin and Aditya did their best to bring contain the run spill of NPS with Aditya gave only 4 runs in the 4th over.

After the first 2 pairs retired due to the match rule of 20 runs or 20 balls whichever comes first, Madhav and Aryan continued with their bowling and contained ther runs of NPS with most economical bowling and got a run out with a direct throw by Aditya from mid off straight to the keepers end.

The next 4 four overs were bowled by Ajaykrishna – left arm medium pacer and Anay Apte. While the NPS batsmen revived their run rate but their was run out by Keeper Rohit assisted by Aditya.

In the next bowling spell from medium pacers Pratyush and Prish but due to short balls and full tosses, NPS hit 4s and 6s but Pratyush managed to bowled both batsman while Prish got a wicket with superb catch by Sattwik at mid off. There was also run out during Prish’s over.

At the end of 20 overs, NPS scored 157 with a loss of 6 wickets

Although it was challenging task for Dhoni Stars boys to score the target of 158 and Rohit and Abhijieth did the opening. While Abhijieth and Rohit were taking singles and run rate was at par of NPS during first few overs but unfortunately Abhijeith got run out. Ater Pratyush came one down, the partnership went very well with Rohit scored 16 off 20 balls with 2 fours and Pratyush scored 9 off 20 balls. Both had to retire as per match rules. Unfortunately, Prish got bowled after facing 3rd ball then Anay and Ajaykrishna took to reins but found challenging to increase the run rate. Ajaykrishna and Anay were out due to run out and catch. Thereafter Aryan, Sattwik and Madhav continued and Sattwik scored 15 off 13 balls with 3 fours and Madhav scoring 4 in the last 3 balls brought the score to 104 with a loss of 3 wickets.

Although Dhoni Stars lost the game against their opponent NPS but overall, everyone gave their best though there were lot of things to learn, they performed well and did not gave up easily and stayed positive until the end, which was remarkable.

All in all, Rohit was awarded best performing player of Dhoni Stars team for scoring highest runs and performed well in his wicket keeping.

Intermediate A Match Report

Date: 10/11/2019

Teams-Dhoni Intermediate A vs AIS

Our Intermediate group played another match at AIS against the hosts Australian International School .

They won the match by 1 wicket against a strong & experienced side in a very close game but our players did an amazing job in all sections of batting, bowling & fielding.
MSDCA bowled first and restricted AIS FOR 118/10 IN 25 Overs match.

Pick of the bowlers were Jai Krishna & Aaryan Voleti with 2 wickets & Parth Kher, Parthiv G, Aadit Garg with 1 wicket each . MSDCA had a very good day in field with some brilliant catches & run outs!

MSDCA needed partnerships to win the game. Opener Krishay Dhar scored 42 not out, Middle order Parth Kher scored 10 & Parthiv G scored 10 as well to see the team back home winning in the final over of the match.

Krishay Dhar was awarded player of the match for his brilliant batting & fielding efforts. He managed to top score under pressure and hit a huge six in final over when team required 10 in last 6 balls.

They were all monitored and later debriefed by our Head Coach Prem Ahire with respect to what they need to improve on and practice in their training sessions.

Parents supported well throughout the match until the last over of the match

Beginners Match Report

Teams : Dhoni Stars Vs AIS Juniors

Date : 3 Nov 2019

Time : 9.00 am to 12 pm

Venue : Australian International School (AIS)

In continuation of Beginners match series between M S Dhoni Cricket Academy and Australian International School (AIS), it was third match between the two teams. The Dhoni Stars team was combination of experienced and some new players which gives them match exposure to learn the skills and importantly to enjoy the match.

The toss was won by Dhoni Stars team led by Captain Bharggava Mukund who elected to field. The start was good as Dhoni Stars restricted AIS team to score 184 runs in 24 overs with a loss of 10 wickets, which reduced the score to 144 as per the match rules. In response, Dhoni scored 103 runs in 24 overs with highest score was from Adhik scoring 6 runs with 1 4, Aarnik and Sai scoring 5 each with 1 4 from Sai. However due to loss of 17 wickets, the score was reduced to 35 runs as per the match rules and AIS won by 109 runs.

Although AIS won the match, but there was remarkable performance demonstrated by Dhoni Stars team notably by Yojit Saruparia who took 3 wickets, Eshan Nathan who took 2 wickets and Bharggav, Eshan Maheshwari, Adhvik, Ishath and Arnik who took 1 wicket each. Eshan Maheshwari took 2 impressive catches on Yojit and Adhik’s bowling while Bharggava, Eshan Nathan, Adhvik and Sai did a good fielding and backup to stop the boundaries and with their direct throws on the stump. Agustya did a good wicket keeping job though throughout the inning.

The man of the match was awarded to Yojit Saruparia for his best performance demonstrated for his bowling as he took 3 wickets in 3 overs and giving 15 runs.

Intermediate A Match Report

Teams-Dhoni Intermediate

Our Intermediate group played another match at AIS against the hosts Australian International School post Diwali.

They lost the match by 3 runs against a strong & experienced side in a very close game but our players did an amazing job in all sections of batting, bowling & fielding.

MSDCA bowled first and restricted AIS FOR 127/10 IN 25 Overs match.

Pick of the bowlers were Emmanuel Moyalan, Rohan Uppal, Samyak Desai, Kashyap Shankar, Dhvanit Dalal with 1 wicket each & Krishiv Garg with 2 Wickets under his belt. MSDCA had a very good day in field with some brilliant catches & run outs!

MSDCA needed partnerships to win the game but kept losing wickets in short period of span

Rohit Laxman was awarded player of the match for his brilliant batting & wicket keeping efforts. He scored 23 runs top order. Only Rohan Nanduri managed to score double figures of 11 runs apart from him

They were all monitored and later debriefed by our Head Coach Prem Ahire with respect to what they need to improve on and practice in their training sessions.

Tri Series T-20 Match Report-Final

Teams-Dhoni Blue vs Dhoni Red

MSDCA’S Final Match of the Tri Series T-20 for Intermediate A and Advance group was played where Dhoni Blue won the toss and elected to bowl first. Dhoni Red put on 107 for the loss off 9 wickets in limited 20 Overs.

Only Anshuman Verma & Aaron Varghese could score in double figures of 12 & 23 each!

Pick of the bowlers were Aditya Chaudhary & Agustya Gopaldas who took 2 wickets each from Dhoni Blue.

Dhoni blue had done a very decent job in all areas of bowling & fielding to restrict Red team under 6 runs per over run rate.
It was very unfortunate when rain came into play after first innings hence there was no further play.

Dhoni Blue & Dhoni Red were decided Joint Winners in the final’s.

We had a pleasure of having Mr Sivalingam & Mrs Winnie Fang as guest of honour after post-match ceremony which was run through by our Head Coach Prem Ahire.

Individual Prizes were awarded and total of 4 matches were played in the MSDCA’ Tri Series T-20-

Both Guest of honour’s said valuable few words to our Players & Parents and were very impressed with overall Tournament.
Umpire Foyej & Scorer Richie had a special Mention for their support throughout the tournament.

Beginners Match Report

Venue: Intermediate B Match Report

Date: 20/10/2019

Teams-Dhoni Stars vs. AIS

It was the second beginners match of 24 overs played by the Ms Dhoni Academy’s Beginners team with the Australian International School (AIS) junior team.

Toss was won by Dhoni Stars team led by Captain Esshann Maheshwari who elected to field. AIS scored 160 with a loss of 2 wickets and in response Dhoni Starts could score 59 runs. The match was won by AIS by 105 runs.  Despite that there was better performances demonstrated by the Beginners players particularly in their bowling and fielding importantly backing up at the right positions.

There were good bowling and fielding performance by Dohni Starts team particularly Bharggava, Eashan Natha, Adhvik, Nikhil, Krushang, Ishaath, Kian, Aarya who gave very minimal extras as compared wth previous matches. Krishang took 2 wickets. In batting Ayansh scored the highest with 10 runs, with Ishaan Maheshwary scored 7 runs, Eshan Nathan, Bharggava, Advik sored 5 runs each.

In the fielding all the payers did their best by restricting the boundaries notably Kian Jain, Sai Keerthi, Adhvik .

Overall, Ayansh Tripathi was given the man of the match for scoring 10 runs and performing good wicking.

Tri Series T-20 Match Report-Semi Final

Date: 16/10/2019

Teams-Dhoni Blue vs Dhoni Green

MSDCA’S Semi Final Match of the Tri Series T-20 for Intermediate A and Advance group was played where Dhoni Green won the toss and elected to bowl first. Dhoni Blue put on 141 for the loss off 3 wickets in limited 20 Overs.

Akaash Banerjee scored 31 & Ashwin Rajesh, Arnav Bhandari scored 22 each in the middle order for Dhoni Blue

For Dhoni Green it was a decent performance by bowling tight line and fielding did well to restrict Blue team over 7 runs per over. Pick of the Bowlers was Captain Nishaanth Sivakumar for conceding 24 runs of 3 overs and taking 2 Wickets. Aryan Nandagopal took 1 Wicket.

Dhoni Green needed partnerships to chase the target and ended up scoring 129 for the loss 8 wickets in 20th Over.

Opening start was not impressive as they kept losing wickets but middle order batsman Fateh Bindra scored 15, Aryan Nandagopal scored 21, Aditya Vishwanath Scored 29 and showed some resistance

Superb Bowling & Fielding efforts helped Dhoni Blue team to win the match convincingly. Pranav Karthikeyan took 4 wickets in 4 overs & Riaan Naik took 2 wickets for Dhoni Blue

Aryan Nandagopal from losing team was presented Man of the Match by Rishabh Vasant’s Mother post match ceremony for his economical bowling.

Dhoni Blue will be playing against Dhoni Red in the Tri Series Finals next week!
